Packaging Options Direct (POD), a division of global packaging solutions leader TricorBraun, has experienced a significant rise in website traffic and increased sales since the addition of 360-degree spin product images to its website. “Some of our more popular categories such as glass liquor bottles and dispensing closures have benefited the most from the enhanced content and are seeing significant sales growth,” said Nicholas Jager, ecommerce manager, POD. “It’s all about enhancing the customer experience. We are leveraging best in class technology by working closely with Snap36 to provide a more engaging and convenient experience.” POD has achieved a significant milestone in a short time by implementing 360-degree images for the majority of the products on the site and plan to complete the update by the end of the second quarter. Contract packager, Consolidated Mills, partners with TricorBraun on plastic alternative to standard glass jar for their own brand of salsa. Houston-based contract food packager Consolidated Mills wanted a better way to bring their Alamo Red branded products to consumers. After being frustrated with the normal retail model which relies on distributors to manage the distribution channel to the retailer and ultimately to the consumer, owners and brothers Keith and Scott Vrana, decided that they needed to have more control over this process. Samantha Juna, TricorBraun industrial design manager, will serve as a juror in the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) Student Merit Awards competition at the University of Illinois today, March 9. Juna, a University of Illinois alumna and former IDSA Student Merits Awards participant, will evaluate senior presentations from the University of Illinois Industrial Design program and recommend an award recipient. The student selected by the judging panel will compete against Student Merit Award winners from other accredited design schools at the regional and possibly, national levels. Read more
