WELCOME TO THE CPA QUARTERLY REPORT NEWSLETTER
The Contract Packaging Association's electronic Quarterly Report Newsletter is designed to keep all members of CPA informed about association growth, activities, events and initiatives.

Growth within the last three years has allowed CPA to take on projects it was not able to consider previously. This newsletter is intended to be both informative and entertaining, while increasing dialog and involvement with the association.

Associate Members are welcome to submit product information specific to contract packaging.

Submit electronic files only - PDF format preferred.

Click here for most recent submissions.

Please send suitable material to Stan Zelesnik, Executive Director at szelesnik@contractpackaging.org.

MEMBER-TO-MEMBER SALES OF PACKAGING PRODUCTS
It has been determined that members in either membership category will be able to offer excess or no longer needed packaging products to other members at a reasonable price.

It could be processing, packaging or material handling equipment, materials, containers or components such as closures, pumps or other fitments. It may also be possible to ask for assistance with a job that could require another member's assistance.

Neither the equipment nor the material availability are intended nor expected to impact associate (supplier) member businesses. First, because the quantities are expected to be limited and one-time sale experiences and, second, because associate members can also participate in the buying and selling activity. The site will be secure on the Contract Packaging Association web site with all member companies having a secure password in order to participate.

This online tool will be available shortly, with additional details to follow on www.contractpackaging.org.

CONFERENCE CALL FOR ASSOCIATE MEMBERS ONLY
First call took place September 14, 2007 . Eighteen (18) associate (supplier) members spoke to discuss common thoughts and needs. Most all of the discussion was devoted to submissions made by participants. Board member Vic Stalam probed the basic question of how each of of the two groups can and should be working togther.

On issues where there is common ground, recommendations were drafted to present to the full Board for adoption. The second "For Associate Members Only" conference call will be held Friday, January 25, 2008. Call-In instructions and an agenda will be sent to all associate members in advance of the conference call.

CPA BOARD APPROVES PHASE II OF THE ANNUAL "STATE OF THE CONTRACT PACKAGING INDUSTRY" REPORT

These results will be combined with the results of Phase I, as well as compared and contrasted with it. Those companies that participate in the survey will receive complete results at no charge. All others will pay a meaningful fee (not yet set), but certainly more than the $1,000 charged for Phase I.

Information of use and value will also be included for suppliers to contract packagers - CPA Associate Members. It is hoped at least preliminary results can be presented at the 2008 Annual Meeting, April 25-28, 2008. This special committee continues to be chaired by John Riley.
