WELCOME TO THE CPA QUARTERLY REPORT NEWSLETTER
The Contract Packaging Association's online quarterly newsletter is designed to keep all members of CPA informed about association growth, activities, events and initiatives.
Growth within the last two years has allowed CPA to take on projects it was not able to consider previously. This newsletter is intended to be both informative and entertaining. Newsletter goal is to greatly increase dialog and involvement with the association.
Another significant reason for the newsletter is to encourage Associate (supplier) Members to submit product information highlighting new, enhanced, changed capabilities of particular value to contract packaging members. With the complete rewriting of the CPA bylaws in 2005, the associate member category was created to encourage those with significant and growing business with contract packagers become members of the association. There are currently a dozen associate members.

ANNUAL MEETING EXCEEDS ALL EXPECTATIONS
First CPA keynote speaker ever, Michael "Pinball" Clemons, set the tone for the 2007 Annual Meeting. His presentation was both captivating and empowering, and clearly demonstrated the remarkable things that can be accomplished through dedication, perseverance, hard work, and a positive attitude. This very much in keeping with the theme of this year's meeting: "Winning Strategies to Flawless Execution - How Winners Do It."
Based on evaluation scores and written comments, the business presentations were equally well received. This material is available on CPA's web site at www.contractpackaging.org; free to members and $100 to non-members.

Networking opportunity as well social and recreational activities were the best ever. Two quotes were typical of a number received: "My compliments on the terrific job you and your staff did in planning and executing the annual meeting. It was the best one yet." The second continues, "I want to thank you for an exceptional meeting. I can't remember the last meeting I attended that was so informative and well planned. CPA is a great organization and I am glad my company is now a part of it."

CPA is fortunate to have had several sponsors to help hold down costs. They include three gold sponsors: Alcoa Flexible Packaging, R.A. Jones and Nulogy Corporation. Other generous sponsors include Packaging World/ Contract Packaging, Nina Plastics and Sugar Foods Contract Packaging.
Thanks to all that continue to support programs, initiatives and events.

STATE OF THE CONTRACT PACKAGING INDUSTRY REPORT - PHASE ONE

Members that did not participate in this initial effort can obtain the full report for $500. Non-members can secure the full report for $1,000.
Strategic Analysis Inc (SAI) conducted the research and provided the analysis. Phase II is being planned to continue to provide valuable insights into the dynamics that are driving this packaging service business and creating revenue opportunities for all of us.
A snapshot PowerPoint presentation was delivered at CPA's Annual Meeting, March 30 - April 2 at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, Arizona. The response from evaluation forms was uniformly positive - a strong start on a long journey.
