Clayton Bolke, Chief Executive Officer of The Visual Pak Companies, announced plans today to begin conducting business as VP Plastics and Engineering for its thermoforming division. As their thermoforming operation continues to grow and expand into new markets and with new capabilities, the new name, VP Plastics and Engineering, will more accurately reflect their extensive thermoform and engineering offerings while maintaining their current image of providing the highest quality packaging and services. “We are best known for our engineering andthermoform plastic packaging so it is important to adapt our name to align with our product offerings,” said Bolke. Prolamina and Ampac, two recently merged global flexible packaging firms, announces its new corporate name, ProAmpac. The new name reflects the merger of two leading, progressive and innovative flexible packaging companies with enhanced product offerings unparalleled in the industry. ProAmpac includes four brand divisions including Prolamina, Ampac, Tulsack and Business Deposits Plus. Together, the brands offer multiple innovative solutions in flexible packaging for the food, pet food and medical markets, secure packaging for cash management, loss prevention and transportation of valuables and documents, and retail paper and plastic shopping bags. CPA Associate Member Sonoco, one of the largest diversified global packaging companies, has donated $50,000 to the American Red Cross to aid in flood relief efforts in the Pee Dee and across the Palmetto State. This brings Sonoco’s total to $95,000 in Red Cross donations in 2015. Read more.

CPA Member Sterling CPI, a full-service contract packaging company, announced that they have purchased 29 acres of land in the Tyger River Industrial Park, located in Moore, SC. With this land, Sterling CPI will construct a state of the art 140,000 square foot manufacturing and warehousing facility. The land will also allow the company to expand the building by more than 100,000 square feet, in the future. Due to rapid growth over the last several years, Sterling CPI was prompted to find a space capable of handling all of their needs. Read more.
