WELCOME TO THE CPA QUARTERLY REPORT NEWSLETTER
The Contract Packaging Association's online quarterly newsletter is designed to keep all members of CPA informed about association growth, activities, events and initiatives.
Growth within the last two years has allowed CPA to take on projects it was not able to consider previously. This newsletter is intended to be both informative and entertaining. Newsletter goal is to greatly increase dialog and involvement with the association.
Another significant reason for the newsletter is to encourage Associate (supplier) Members to submit product information highlighting new, enhanced, changed capabilities of particular value to contract packaging members. With the complete rewriting of the CPA bylaws in 2005, the associate member category was created to encourage those with significant and growing business with contract packagers become members of the association. There are currently a dozen associate members.
CPA AND NEUTRAL RESEARCH FIRM TO DEVELOP "STATE OF THE CONTRACT PACKAGING INDUSTRY REPORT"
It has been decided that CPA will develop the market research required to produce an annual "State of the Contract Packaging Industry Report". It's an ambitious ongoing project, one that should be produced by CPA in order that it be viewed as the definitive source of information on the size and scope of the service of contract packaging.

CPA WEB SITE VISITORS TOP 650 PER WEEK
The CPA web site - www.contractpackaging.org - is an excellent resource for packager companies and contract packagers to make meaningful business connections. The site is very active with an average of 650 unique visitors weekly. With numbers like these, the web site more than proves itself as an invaluable networking and informational resource.
CPA OFFICERS/DIRECTORS IN PLACE FOR JULY 1, 2006 FISCAL YEAR
Included in the group of seven (7) are: John Mazelin, Past President; James Ellis, President; Eric Wilhelm, Vice President; John Riley, Treasurer; and Stan Zelesnik, Secretary. In addition, Jeffrey Hayzlett and Sean McKeon have been elected Directors. A staggering of terms has been put in place so there will never be a complete turnover of the Board of Directors. If any member is interested in serving on a committee (leading to becoming an officer), contact Stan Zelesnik at 630/696-4008 at the association office for details or e-mail szelesnik@contractpackaging.org.
LEGAL COUNSEL SECURED FOR ASSOCIATION
Eric F. Greenberg, PC has been retained to provide legal services for the Contract Packaging Association. Eric has been particularly helpful in the complete redrafting of CPA's bylaws and amendments, elections, articles of incorporation and a dissolution clause, negotiations with two consortiums - power/energy and transportation - allowing members to buy energy and transportation at a group rate lower than could be purchased individually. There will also be royalties paid to CPA based on qualifying association member participation revenues.
RECONFIRMATION OF COMMITTEE SYSTEM
It has been reconfirmed that CPA will stand with its four (4) basic committees previously established: Management, Marketing, Membership and Meeting. Within each of these four groupings are related activities that are monitored by committee chairs. Each major committee has a chair and a goal of a minimum of three volunteers working with the chair. The four chairs are: John Mazelin - Management; Eric Wilhelm - Marketing; Jim Ellis - Membership; Sean McKeon - Meeting.
No member may serve on more than one major committee. CPA is fortunate to have two dozen volunteers willing to do what is necessary to carry through on initiatives and programs that will advance the association and its goals. Volunteers are being contacted in person and by phone to solidify their commitment.
CONTRACT PACKAGING HALL OF FAME CRITERIA SET

CONTRACT PACKAGING ASSOCIATION REACHES 100TH MEMBER MILESTONE
At the CPA Annual Meeting in April in Orlando, the association recognized its 100th corporate member, Anderson Packaging. According to Justin Schroeder CPP, Marketing & Business Development Manager, indicated that Anderson's involvement with the Contract Packaging Association provides an ideal opportunity to make valuable connections with packagers needing their services as well as keeping up with industry trends.
"As a leader in the pharmaceutical and healthcare markets, we are always looking for cutting edge technologies," says Schroeder. "Joining the Contract Packaging Association was a logical choice to help facilitate this goal. The organization provides insight specific to our unique industry that we have not been able to find in traditional associations. We are excited about joining the Association and its potential for the future."
